Thursday 1 December, 7:30pm. Stalbridge Village Hall. 01963 362978. £15 / £7 u18s / £30 family
The visual and musical delights of a Buffalo Gals’ night out, as well as their humour and joyful rapport with delighted audiences, have made this Old-Time Country and Bluegrass six-piece band one of the most sought-after acts on the American roots-inspired UK music circuit. Led by champion USA fiddler and funny-lady Kate Lissauer, the Gals specialise in reviving the string band tradition of ballads, rags, work songs and spiritual numbers of Appalachia, Bluegrass and early Country music – all delivered with high energy, flair and great humour. Buffalo Gals intoxicating style is punctuated by their trademark stunning, syncopated traditional Appalachian ‘step-dancer’, bringing stomping and ‘body-percussion’ to these toe-tapping tunes in an irresistible and uplifting show.

Is That a Bolt in your Neck?

10/10/2022

Picture
Having previously thrilled audiences with the hit show, ‘The Thing That Came From Over There’, Gonzo Moose are back with a brand new Gothic horror!
A castle looms dark and foreboding over a small mountain village. Inside, Dr Chekhov, the brilliant and reclusive scientist, works in secret.
As the villagers prepare for Christmas they become increasingly alarmed. Strange shadows can be seen at the castle windows, and every night blood curdling cries of pain can be heard. What is Dr Chekhov doing? What hideous experiments is he perpetrating? What unimaginable horror might emerge from his laboratory? And will any of it spoil Christmas?
All will be revealed in this wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy horror. Prepare to gasp, laugh and be amazed at the horrific experiments, the mind-boggling love, and the sensational death-defying finale.
Inspired by gothic horror movie classics of the 1930’s, Is That a Bolt in Your Neck? is a fast-paced, rollicking ride mixing spooky paranoia, surreal nightmare and frantic farce in a show packed full of hilarious slapstick, verbal wit, and magical illusion

Sunset Cafe Stompers  Vintage jazz

Picture
Stalbridge Hall.
19th February.
7.30pm.
Tickets £8
tel: 01963 362978 to reserve.

Our music is rooted in the bars and bordellos, the dance halls and the street parades of New Orleans in the 1910s and 20s, and later in the clubs and speakeasies of Chicago and New York, as musicians migrated to the big cities to find work ... maintaining this element of jazz history.
Great tunes from the likes of Scott Joplin, irving Berlin, Duke Ellington and Fats Waller.
